Nothing is what it seems but Soekershof IS!!!
A visit to Soekershof; Private Mazes and Botanical Gardens in South Africa is an event every (openings-)day. Unlike the "boaring" 'Botanical Gardens' suggest the place is vibrant in its own right. It certainly is not your usual garden. There is humor, story-telling and local folklore to mention a few.
Between wine-tastings in the Robertson Wine Valley one can taste some flowers at Soekershof. The 10 hectare large estate is also known as "The Green Cathedral of South Africa".
Locally Soekershof is known about its huge Klaas Voogds Maze and internationally for its unmatched outdoor collection of more than 2500 different succulent plant species (subspecies'cultivars/etc.) from all over the globe. Soekershof is also the initiator of Land Art Project in South Africa; the earth sculpture Mama Africa and the Tree of Growing Creativity gained international acclaim.
A visit to this 10 hectare large estate is a real day outing; the average well prepared visitor stays 4 to 6 hours.
