DeJavu is a two man melodic acoustic rock band hailing from the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, South Africa. The band conceptualized when Dave and Philip started jamming together in April 2008. Material written over the past decade was rehearsed and molded into our own distinctive sound and flavor. Our music can be described best as influenced by a vast variety of musical styles and genres. Influences include the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, 3 Days Grace and Chevelle. We are also very much into the SA music scene. The intimate escape is our means to finding serenity away from day to day life, by doing what we love. I.e. To play our original music live, and sharing this experience with the ones we love. DeJavu is set to start gigging August 2008 and hope to record an e.p. later on this year. A couple of our songs have been already been captured on demo. So come catch us at our next gig for a celebration of uncensored expression and individuality.
